Yes, Maine Coons are known for being gentle, affectionate, and highly adaptable — making them excellent companions for both families and apartment living.
They are social, intelligent cats who bond closely with their humans and generally get along well with children, other cats, and even dogs. While they are large in size, Maine Coons are not high-energy cats; they enjoy interactive play but also love lounging quietly near their people.
In apartments, they do well as long as they have vertical space (like cat trees or shelves), enrichment, and regular interaction. They are not aggressive or destructive by nature, and their calm temperament makes them a favorite among urban pet owners.
Yes, Maine Coon kittens are known for their gentle and tolerant nature, making them wonderful companions for children of all ages.
They are playful without being aggressive, and they tend to enjoy interactive games, cuddles, and even being carried around. Their calm temperament and patience make them one of the most family-friendly cat breeds in the world.
However, as with all pets, it’s important to teach children how to handle kittens respectfully and gently. When raised in a loving home, Maine Coons often develop strong, affectionate bonds with kids and grow up as loyal family members.
Yes — absolutely! Maine Coons are sociable, confident, and tend to get along well with other pets, including dogs.
Proper introduction is key, but many of our kittens live happily in multi-pet households. They often become the quiet leader of the pack.
While Maine Coons have thick coats, they are surprisingly adaptable.
They don’t require air-conditioning 24/7, but a cool, well-ventilated space is important — especially in Thailand’s climate. Many of our clients use fans, AC during the day, or cooling pads during warmer months.
t all. In fact, Maine Coons are known for being easygoing and low-maintenance, especially for a long-haired breed.
They have calm, affectionate personalities and adapt well to different lifestyles.
With weekly brushing, quality food, and a loving home, they thrive beautifully — making them one of the most rewarding breeds to raise.
On average, males grow to 7–12 kg, and females 4–8 kg. Maine Coons reach full size by 3–4 years old, developing steadily over time.
Maine Coons have a semi-long coat that requires consistent but gentle grooming to stay healthy.
We recommend brushing your Maine Coon once a day using a wide-tooth comb, especially during their kitten stage. The goal isn’t to groom heavily — just to help them get used to daily care and prevent their fur from tangling or clumping.
Be gentle. Overbrushing or pulling can make them dislike grooming over time. Focus on keeping the coat separated, particularly around the neck, belly, and underarms where mats form easily.
🛁 Bathing once a month is recommended, especially using a proper grooming technique that removes excess oil and allows you to check the health of their coat and skin. For show-quality Maine Coons, professional grooming helps maintain coat structure and shine.

Maine Coons are best kept as indoor cats — for their safety, health, and longevity.
While they are curious, confident, and enjoy watching the world from a window or balcony, the risks of outdoor life (such as cars, diseases, parasites, and theft) are much higher for this rare and valuable breed.
That said, Maine Coons can absolutely enjoy safe outdoor time through supervised play, leash walking, or access to a secure catio (enclosed outdoor space). These activities provide enrichment while still keeping your Maine Coon safe.
Keeping your Maine Coon indoors doesn’t limit their happiness — with toys, interaction, and vertical space, they thrive beautifully in a home environment.
Yes, all of our breeding cats at Tigercooncat are DNA-tested through reputable laboratories.
We screen for major hereditary diseases commonly found in the Maine Coon breed, including:
HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy)
PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease)
SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy)
PK Def (Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency)
Our goal is to ensure that each kitten comes from healthy, well-screened parents — not only for their physical health, but also for their long-term well-being and peace of mind for new families.
If you’d like, we’re happy to share the health test results for any specific parent cat you’re interested in
We do occasionally offer show-quality kittens to approved homes that are active in cat shows or looking for exceptional companions.

Caring for a Maine Coon kitten in the first few weeks is an important part of building trust, supporting healthy growth, and helping them settle into their new home.
Here are our best care tips for a smooth transition:
To avoid digestive upset, continue feeding the same high-quality food your kitten is used to.
You can offer wet food or treats to boost appetite during the adjustment period.
Always keep fresh, clean water available. A water fountain can encourage kittens to drink more.
Create a soft, cozy, and peaceful space for your kitten to feel safe.
Avoid placing their bed near cold drafts or loud noises, and don’t let them roam the house too soon.
Healthy kittens eat well, poop normally, and are playful and alert.
If you notice signs of lethargy, diarrhea, or lack of appetite, consult your vet.
Use the same type of litter they used at the cattery.
Keep the box clean and easy to access to support good habits.
Let your kitten explore slowly, one area at a time.
Block off small spaces and remove hazards like cords, plants, or small objects.
Talk softly, pet gently, and offer interactive play.
Allow your kitten to approach you at their own pace — building trust leads to a strong lifelong bond.
Introduce your new kitten to resident cats slowly, starting with scent swapping and short, supervised visits.
Allow your kitten time to adjust to their new home and strengthen their immune system before any major stress or exposure.
If your kitten is comfortable, start with light brushing, nail trimming, or ear cleaning.
This helps them become familiar with regular care and deepens your bond.
Use the schedule provided by the cattery and consult your local veterinarian for continued care.
